This website is a unique collaboration between Lee Menszak, President of The Koi Farm and Brian Kroposky, President of Reflexions Landscape.
Lee’s interests in fish began as a boy when he lived on a farm and would catch fish, bring them home (alive), and put them in an old hand dug well used to catch rain water off of the barn roof--a humble beginning, but a beginning, nonetheless. His appreciation for animals on the farm led to a BS degree in Life Sciences from Kutztow University. Lee also has an MBA in Finance and a Post Masters degree in International Business from Long Island University.
As a precursor to raising koi as a business, he applies the same high standards he has used as a pharmaceutical consultant. One of the most valuable lessons learned while doing this is assuring that quality is built into the process. Trips to Japan over the years opened the door to the koi business, and not just any koi business. Lee is a firm believer in high standards of quality and koi health. From his early roots on the farm, he has learned his lessons well when it comes to an appreciation for nature and taking care of animals.
Brian has over 10 years of experience exclusively designing and building waterscapes. He specializes in koi ponds, waterfalls, and unique landscape designs that are best characterized for their imagination, unusual botanical collection, and the careful integration of plants in a naturalistic setting.
His work is a testimony to beauty of simplicity and creativity. He very effectively blends the boundary between waterscape architecture, functionality, landscape design, and art. First and foremost, he relies on his hands-on experience on the jobsite for what is needed for each customer’s expectations. When you are leading the way, experience counts. Brian has a degree in marketing from the University of Delhi.
